Crypto Roundup - March 19
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has dropped its appeal in the ongoing lawsuit against the company, effectively ending the four-year legal battle. In response, XRP's price surged by 13%, reaching nearly $2.56. In another development, the EOS Network has rebranded as Vaulta, reflecting its strategic shift towards integrating decentralized finance (DeFi) with traditional financial services. This rebranding includes a token swap and the establishment of a Banking Advisory Council to bridge DeFi with traditional finance. Additionally, a recent Coinbase survey reveals that 83% of institutional investors plan to increase their cryptocurrency allocations in 2025, with 68% citing greater regulatory clarity as a key factor for this anticipated growth.
